A first-time business owner who had been doing mainly catering of cupcakes wanted to move into a brick-and-mortar bakery and cafe. She asked for the following:

• Modern, High-end materials and design of the Café Area only
• Palette is Dark Brown, Pink and White
• Retail Space
• Seating
• Coffee Station
• Chocolatier Preparation Area with Marble Surface
• Food Display Areas
• Stainless Steel Food Prep Areas

Cadmium Interiors, now Kristin Taghon Interior Designs, researched other bakery/cafes to understand what is trending. In keeping with the colors of her catering company, we stayed with Pink and Brown. We wanted this bakery to reflect a contemporary and upscale bakery with custom-designed shelving, and create a very customized space. We wanted this cafe to be unique and a place where people enjoyed hanging out and could also handle high traffic into and out of the bakery.

We wanted to mark the area for the employees with soffits in varying layers and with downlights. It was especially important to mark the Cash Wrap so that the customers knew where to go with their purchases.

We also wanted to mark the areas for the customer to eat under a nice shiny soffit with downlights. 

We created shelving that had round, cupcake-shaped shelves with glass shelves set inside each circular shelf.
