  • Kristin Taghon started her own Interior Design Firm in July 2014. The firm specializes in Residential Interior Design in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Kristin has added the specialization of creating with materials having low VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). These materials are widely used in the marketplace and Kristin enjoys helping her clients choose materials that are healthy, beautiful and within their budgets.

  • Kristin Taghon of Kristin Taghon Interior Designs talks about her work in the first Chicago area Passive House. Check out the shelving Kristin designed that was built out of FSC certified wood with no chemicals and painted with Safecoat paint.

    Cadmium Interiors is (Now Kristin Taghon Interior Designs) recognized for their sustainable interior design work on the first Passive House in Chicagoland. We had the pleasure of working with Weiss Building and Development  and Tom Bassett Dilley Architects. 

    Cadmium Interiors (Again, Kristin Taghon Interior Designs) successfully created an environment using low or no VOCs with sustainable and organic fabrics and rugs, reuse of furniture that has off-gassed and retrofitted LED lighing.  We designed a kitchen table for a banquet and a built-in shelving unit for the upstairs sitting area.

    ArchiSTITCHure  Design; Fashion and Architecture Collide was a fantastic and memorable night at Park West filled with fabulous garments and a great dance performance highlighting IIDC. Cadmium Interiors (Now Kristin TAghon Interior Designs) designed a garment along with Neelu McGibbon of Rooh Design out of two beautiful rugs donated by Oscar Isberian Rugs. Our inspiration was Doug Garofolo.

    Cadmium Interiors (Now Kristin Taghon Interior Designs) was selected by a juried panel to be among 40 independent and local Chicago designers to celebrate in the 7th Annual Guerilla Truck Show.
    Cadmium Interiors worked with Antanis V. Abraitis on designing the interior of our 15' truck. Our theme was Chicago On Its Side! You can see handpainted buildings on plywood as the flooring, buildings made out of cardboard on the side lighting up Cadmium's interior scapes. The far wall was completed with turf and an outside scene with the Hortus Sculptura Chair that our firm designed, along with a beautiful wood side table that Antanis designed.
    Along the wall on the left is a tongue in cheek photo of the famous Chicago Bean, as well as a unique take on the Pritzker Pavilion. Last but not least, the ceiling is Lake Michigan; made up of 18' panels of blue silk, blue cotton, and another shade of blue cotton.
