Park Ridge Single Family Sold!

A Walk-through with the developer and his contractor revealed a home in good shape, but with odd-shaped rooms and flow. Standard number of bathrooms and features were missing and needed to be added.

Process

Kristin Taghon Interior Designs created drawings to reflect changes we suggested to the developer.

  1. In the kitchen, we replaced a Floor to Ceiling Wall with a Counter top work area and Pass-through to the Dining Room. We opened up the room. We made the kitchen more efficient by creating a kitchen triangle.
  2. We added Ceiling Fans to many areas of the home. We added recessed lighting (not shown in these plans)
  3. A Master Bath Configuration was added with a pass through walk-in closet. Since the Master Bath is private, we added a powder room for the first floor.

  4. There were no Coat Closets were in the house so we added one by the back door.

  5. We wanted straightforward and clean lines in the hallway, making the flow easier to understand and prettier, less cluttered. We moved the door to the third bedroom over to right at the top of the stairs to open up the upstairs landing.
  6. We created efficient use of space in the second bedroom by adding a walk-in closet and a Jack and Jill bathroom.

  7. Bedroom 3 now has a nicer closet.

  8. We enlarged the Second Floor common bathroom and replaced the tub with a walk-in shower. We also
moved the door of the attic to the beginning of the hall of the attic for aesthetics.

Results

The contractor finished the work we prescribed, finishing all drywall and installing lighting and ceiling fans.

Before we had time to go back in to specify finishes, cabinetry and paint colors, a buyer put an offer in and the house was sold to a family.

This home has 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, kitchen, living room, dining room and breakfast nook with lots of storage and a fireplace.
